Sky Metals (SKY) has provided an update on exploration at its Iron Duke Project in New South Wales.

The Iron Duke Project hadn’t been explored for nearly a decade and other historical copper workings on the tenement remained largely untested until Sky’s current exploration program.

Sky Metals embarked on a rock chip sampling program at the Christmas Gift and Monarch mines which are located 2.5 kilometres south from the Iron Duke mine.

Twenty one samples were collected from this program with over half of them returning copper grades above one per cent.

Best results include 26.1 per cent copper, 11 per cent copper and 8.3 per cent copper.

“The rock chip results from the Monarch and Christmas Gift mines demonstrate the outstanding potential of the Iron Duke Project,” CEO Mark Arundell said.

Due to the success of this sampling program, the Christmas Gift and Monarch mines have become high-priority drill targets.

Additionally, Sky Metals will soon begin reverse circulation drilling at the Iron Duke mine to test the down dip and strike extent of the copper-gold mineralisation.

Company shares ended the day 3.45 per cent in the green to close at 15 cents.
