Leading US consumer electronics retailer Best Buy will now be carrying Spacetalk’s (SPA) Adventurer wearables in the US.

The Spacetalk Adventurer is a 4G GPS smart watch that comes with features like enhanced chat and call capabilities, multimedia sharing and upcoming events reminders.

Initially to be sold through the retailer’s online channels, the Spacetalk Adventurer will be bundled with a JumpySIM cellular (mobile) network SIM to provide customers with the market-leading kids wearable experience.

CEO Mark Fortunatow expressed his excitement at Best Buy US joining the Spacetalk family.

“Best Buy is one of the largest electronics retailers with a strong sales track record in North America, and this partnership is a key milestone in Spacetalk’s growth strategy.

“We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

The company, however, stressed that the financial impact of selling the products through Best Buy is currently unknown and have given no guarantee or minimum level of revenue.

With that being said, Spacetalk expects a direct positive impact on the total revenue of the company.

Best Buy operates more than 1000 stores and has approximately 100,000 employees in the US and Canada.

The flagship smartphone-watch is a child’s first mobile phone, offering all the benefits of a smartphone and operating on a secure, private and parent-controlled ecosystem that can be customised to reflect each family’s needs and values.

With the Spacetalk App, parents can prevent their children’s’ access to the open internet, social media and inappropriate adult content while blocking calls and messages from unknown senders.

The app also keeps track of a child’s location and is customisable so every feature can be enabled and disabled as needed.

Shares in Spacetalk were up 16.7 per cent, trading at six cents as of 3:36 pm AEST.
