Spacetalk (SPA) has launched its Adventurer 2 all-in-one smartwatch, phone, and GPS safety device for children aged five to twelve.

As part of its omnichannel distribution strategy, SPA has partnered with prominent retail giants and distributors, including JB Hi-fi, Big W, Harvey Norman, Amazon, and Officeworks.

Alongside these collaborations, SPA will leverage its own direct-to-consumer eCommerce platform to ensure broad availability and accessibility for customers.

SPA has made plans to employ digital advertising campaigns and influencer channels to expand awareness of its new product.

SPA CEO and Managing Director Simon Crowther said the launch marks a key milestone for the company’s growth strategy, with increased profit margins due to reduced production costs.

“Today’s launch illustrates execution against several key initiatives enabling our return to growth, notably enhancing Spacetalk’s product ecosystem, aligning under a single brand and driving subscription-based products and recurring revenues,” Mr Crowther said.

”The launch of Adventurer 2 is an important step in continuing to innovate and improve our kid’s smartwatch and demonstrates our continued commitment to child and family safety.”

SPA has implemented customer enhancements in the Adventurer 2 based on insights gathered from its predecessor, the Adventurer 1. These include a reduced weight suitable for young users and a sleek watch face, appealing to older age groups at the same price of $349.

With the Spacetalk app, parents will have complete access to all features of the device, including monitoring mood and activity levels, tracking location, and customising safety settings.

Each device comes bundled with a SIM card from Spacetalk’s mobile virtual network operator, Jumpy SIM, although the company noted the sim will be re-branded to align with its core Spacetalk brand.

The SIM will offer a range of talk, text, and data plans tailored specifically for the Adventurer 2.

While managing the sell-out of remaining Adventurer 1 inventory, SPA will provide updates on the demand for both Adventurer 1 and Adventurer 2 devices before the release of the company’s Q4 FY23 results in July.

SPA shares were up 9.68 per cent, and trading at 3.4 cents at 11:05 am AEST.
