SportsHero (SHO) has signed a revenue sharing partnership with U.K.-based sports content provider Sportclips.

This three-year deal is an exciting one for SportsHero as it opens up a whole new subscriber revenue stream. The deal enables the company to earn some of the subscriber revenue that Sportclips generates.

Significantly, Sportclips has an exclusive subscriber agreement with Indosat Ooredoo. Indosat is Indonesia’s second largest telco company with over 60 million paid subscribers. Through this deal, Sportclips is entitled to 40 per cent of the telco’s subscriber revenue.

Under the agreement, SportsHero is entitled to 50 per cent of Sportclips’ 40 per cent revenue share received from subscribers of Indosat Ooredoo.

“In the fast-moving world of digital marketing, brands competing for consumer attention need to also deliver relevant content across several platforms in a timely and cost-efficient manner,” SportsHero CEO Tom Lapping said.

SportsHero believes it will generate material revenues as its OlahBola app is already seeing rapid user growth before even being promoted to Indosat’s 60 million subscribers.

“Sportclips are delighted to be partnering with SportsHero who will provide us with their exclusive Indonesian content for use in our Indonesian sports based mobile subscription service that is to be marketed through Indosat Ooredoo,” Sportclips CEO Shaun Doyle said.

SportsHero went into a trading halt before announcing the partnership and is yet to commence trading. Shares last traded at 3 cents on Wednesday, May 5.
