St Joseph’s College (abbreviated as SJC and commonly called Joeys) is an independent Roman Catholic secondary day and boarding school for boys. It is located in Hunters Hill, a suburb in the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales.

The College was founded by the Marist Brothers in 1881 who staffed the boarding school in its early days when it had less than 100 students. Since then, St Joseph’s has grown to become the largest boarding school in Australia.

Catholic faith values are central to everything at Joey’s. The College strives to provide boys with a quality education that draws faith, culture and life into harmony. Boys are given access to exceptional learning opportunities within a caring, compassionate and highly supportive Christian environment.

St Joseph’s College provides a broad curriculum which seeks to foster and challenge the individuality, creativity, initiative and ability of all students. It provides structures that enable students to study in the areas and levels most suited to their abilities, needs and interests.

The College also offers an extensive learning program for students in Years 11 and 12.

St Joseph’s College prides itself on providing students with a well-rounded, balanced education, focussing on boys’ academic, physical, social, spiritual and recreation needs. The College’s broad range of sport and co-curricular activities caters for a wide range of talents and interests.

Debating, public speaking, music and performing arts are an integral part of the curriculum and add great richness and energy to the College community.

St Joseph’s owns and operates its own well-appointed outdoor education campus on a 30-hectare site on the beautiful Colo River. It is located in the upper Colo Valley, approximately 45 kilometres north-west of Windsor, on land adjoining the Wollemi National Park. This campus provides students with inspiring challenges and opportunities that are not available in a traditional classroom setting.

The community at Joeys is strong, supportive and vibrant. Support groups and affiliates are highly valued at the College and all families are encouraged to play an active role in many aspects of school life.
