Strategic Elements (SOR) subsidiary, Stealth Technologies, is teaming up with a U.S. Fortune 100 company, Honeywell International, to create a fully autonomous security vehicle (ASV) for a WA prison.
The companies are aiming to develop a driverless security vehicle to inspect, test and confirm the integrity at the Eastern Goldfield Regional Prison perimeter.
Current testing requires two staff, three times a day to check each fence and security system. With this new technology, staff will be able to concentrate on managing the safety, security and rehabilitation of prisoners.
Under the collaboration, the Honeywell Pacific Apps team and Stealth will create a meeting point between the vehicle and security management system. This will allow security to be alarmed of any movement detected by the vehicle through a live streaming system.
Final testing for the vehicle will begin in the Septemeber quarter. The companies are also testing the vehicles at other facilities.
Company shares have closed steady for the week and are trading at 5.5 cents each.
