Strategic Elements’ (SOR) Stealth AxV Automation and Robotics platform reportedly achieved a number of milestones across multiple applications under development.

The main application includes the Autonomous Security Vehicle (ASV) application which is being developed by Strategic Elements’ AI company, Stealth Technologies, and Fortune 100 software company, Honeywell.

The ASV is being developed for the correctional sector and can be integrated into the prison’s security management platform to test perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS).

Strategic said the world’s first ASV successfully completed thousands of tests at a Western Australian prison facility. This is reportedly significant as operational testing of PIDS is required multiple times a day and is currently only possible through physical interaction between prison guards and PIDS.

Managing Director Charles Murphy commented on the technology, claiming it helps increase security, save costs and redeploy staff from “mundane and repetitive tasks”.

“It is satisfying that real world outcomes are starting to be reported that indicate the robustness and reliability of the ASV. I know that Stealth truly values the industry knowledge shared by the Honeywell team and the autonomous vehicle expertise of key professors and researchers at UWA.”

The company aims to run the ASV at a WA prison until the end of the year and then review and assess the ASV missions made so far.

Strategic Elements has also applied for $750,000 in funding to roll out pilot ASV deployments for critical infrastructure. Successful applications will be notified early next year.

Company shares were up 18.6 per cent to trade at 25.5 cents at 11:38 am AEDT.
