- The West Erregulla project is held in a 50:50 joint venture with ASX-lister Warrego Energy (WGO)
- This first hole section measures 17.5 inches and was drilled to a depth of 2635 metres
- Pleasingly, Strike observed hydrocarbon shows in the Cattamarra Coal Measures (a geological formation in the Perth Basin) which were also seen in previous wells
- Strike will now cement the chosen casing point in place ahead of drilling the second intermediate hole section which will be 12.25 inches
- Company shares remain flat at 30 cents in early morning trade
Strike Energy (STX) has announced the completion of the first intermediate hole section to a 2635-metre depth at the West Erregulla field in Western Australia.
The project is held in an equally-split joint venture with ASX-lister Warrego Energy (WGO).
This first intermediate hole section is 17.5 inches and lies within the West Erregulla 4 well (WE4). WE4 is one of three 5000-metre appraisal wells planned for the namesake gas field.
The hole section is currently running the 13.38-inch casing which will be cemented in place.
Pleasingly, Strike observed hydrocarbon shows in the Cattamarra Coal Measures (a geological formation in the Perth Basin) which were also seen during the drilling of the WE2 and WE3 wells.
Looking ahead, Strike will finish casing and cementing the first intermediate hole section. Following this, it will begin drilling the 12.25-inch second intermediate hole section.
Company shares remain flat at 30 cents in early morning trade.
