Sultan Resources (SLZ) has defined the extent of a layered ultramafic sequence at its Kulin Hill project in Western Australia.

The company drilled a stratigraphic diamond hole to better understand the nature of a sequence identified through aircore drilling completed in January.

The deep drillhole, SLGDD001, was completed to 489.4 metres downhole toward the southeast to target a strong magnetic body within the sequence.

Initial inspection of the hole revealed the layered ultramafic/mafic sequence extended
256 metres down hole before a series of felsic and mafic gneisses were intersected.

Given the visual results, Sultan said it was likely thicker intervals of ultramafic would be intersected in the centre of the body.

The company has received approval from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety to access the reserve that covers the bulk of the ultramafic sequence.

With this approval, Sultan plans to undertake electromagnetic techniques to detect areas of strong conductance that might mark the location of sulphide accumulation.

Any conductors identified through this work will then be followed up with drilling in order of priority.

Sultan shares were trading grey at 9.5 cents at 10:42 am AEDT.
