Sultan Resources (SLZ) is set to begin diamond drilling at its Razorback Ridge Gold-Copper Prospect.

The Razorback Ridge Prospect is part of the Big Hill Gold-Copper Porphyry Project which lies within Sultan’s Lachlan Fold Belt portfolio in New South Wales.

Up to nine holes will be drilled across three sites to test the tenor and width of the outcropping gold-copper mineralisation beneath the surface.

Drilling will be undertaken by a track-mounted diamond rig to minimise any environmental impact.

All regulatory approvals, drill contracts and landowner compensation agreements have been finalised, with work scheduled to begin by mid-October.

Maiden drilling at Big Hill intersected intricate hydrothermal alteration determined to be the out part of a copper-gold porphyry system.

This drilling also intersected multiple zones of dispersed pyrite as well as up to 2.25 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 2.65 per cent copper.

Sultan has also received results for three recently drilled holes at Big Hill.

As expected, elevated copper and pathfinder elements were intersected, which strengthens the prospectivity of the area.

Copper grades averaged roughly 100 parts per million (ppm) with a peak of 385ppm.

Shares in Sultan were steady on the market and are trading at 16 cents at 2:03 pm AEST.
