Baby boomers’ bucket list travel is seeing Dale Gillham’s top stock pick fly.

Dale Gillham’s ‘Hot’ stock for this week is digital travel company, Webjet (ASX:WEB) – a stock that’s performed strongly this month to date.

“Economically at the moment, everybody’s travelling,” Dale Gillham said.

“I’m trying to book a holiday and I can’t book anything for love or money!

“All the baby boomers are retired or just about retired: You can’t get a cruise for love or money, you can’t get flights… it’s crazy!

“All that pent-up demand during covid and then staying away from travelling for so long – now they’re going, ‘right I’m going to do my bucket list right now’.”

WEB was trading around $7.75 this morning.

Dale Gillham’s ‘Proceed with Caution’ stock this week is Mineral Resources (ASX:MIN) which has been showing signs of gains, but Dale Gillham said he wanted more proof the strength and direction was there for the buyers, not the sellers.

The ‘Not Hot’ stock this week is Nine Entertainment Co Holdings (ASX:NEC).

“Obviously mainstream TV is a bit of a tough challenge nowadays,” Mr Gillham said.

“There’s so many streaming services and people are paying to ‘not’ watch ads.

“Mainstream free-to-air TV make their money from ads; they’re expected to produce content, which costs lots of money; plus, then have other content they pay for to come on in, like the shows from America, the UK and Europe, that people want to watch.

“I think there’s more downside to this.”
