Tambourah Metals (TMB) has received results from rock chip sampling at the Russian Jack project in the Archaean Pilbara Craton of Western Australia.

The company’s geology team recently completed a mapping and sampling program in the northern part of the project which comprises two recently granted exploration licences, taking the total tenement area to 250 square kilometres.

The new exploration licences, E46/1420 and E46/1423, adjoin existing tenements which were granted in March this year.

Sampling identified pegmatites to the north with grades of up to 1420 parts per million (ppm) lithium in sample RJRK004 and 1930 ppm rubidium in RJRK001.

Additional results include 571 ppm lithium, 455 ppm lithium, 1840 ppm rubidium and 1570 ppm rubidium.

Field mapping interpreted the pegmatites to be between one to 20 metres wide with the highest-grade lithium sample sourced from a 10 metre-wide pegmatite.

The company will conduct further mapping to define the full extent of the pegmatites in the area as well as to identify new pegmatites in new locations.

“The initial pegmatites sampled from Russian Jack are very encouraging and demonstrate the potential of the tenure to host pegmatite swarms,” Executive Chair Rita Brooks said.

“The granting of these tenements enables Tambourah to implement the planned project scale exploration program that commences with the analysis of hyperspectral data leading to site location and sampling of prospective pegmatites and culminating in drilling targets.”

Looking ahead, Tambourah Metals will begin reconnaissance and rock chip sampling in areas with known anomalous lithium and rubidium.

Ground reconnaissance work will commence in the December quarter and will be followed by detailed surface geochemistry and then drilling.

Company shares were up 7.14 per cent to trade at 15 cents just before market close.
