Tempus Resources (TMR) has completed the phase one exploration program at its Valle de Tigre II Project in Ecuador.

Under the exploration program, 167 soil samples, 20 stream sediment samples and nine rock samples were collected.

All of the samples have been sent to SGS del Ecuador to be prepared before being sent to SGS Peru for analysis.

During the program, coarse gold was identified with up to 11 gold grains found in one pan.

Samples close to several identified artisanal gold workings contained sulphide veins with visible pyrite-chalcopyrite-bornite within altered sandstone and granitic rocks.

“We look forward to receiving the assay results from the 198 samples in this initial program,” CEO and President Jason Bahnsen said.

“The presence of both visible gold and copper mineralisation during the field work is very encouraging and together with the geophysical anomalies, suggest the potential for both gold and copper porphyry mineralisation within the project area,” he added.

Once the sampling results have been received, Tempus will use them to identify and develop targets for an upcoming drilling program.

Tempus is down 4.65 per cent on the market this morning with shares trading at 20.5 cents at 10:41 am AEDT.
