Tennant Minerals (TMS) has recorded “spectacular” initial results from the second round of drilling at its Bluebird discovery in the Northern Territory.

The first diamond drill hole completed as part of the stage two drilling returned just over 30 metres at 6.2 per cent copper and 6.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold. This hit included a 17.8-metre zone at 11.5 g/t gold and a 16.1-metre zone at 10.5 per cent copper.

The company said the latest gold and copper interval began at a similar depth to previous intersections at Bluebird and extended an existing easterly-plunging dilational zone to the west. This zone remains open.

Further drilling is planned here, which the company said opened up the potential to deliver more spectacular intersections in the westerly direction.

Chairman Matthew Driscoll said the initial results were a key step in the company’s strategy to identify multiple, multi-million-tonne, high-grade copper-gold deposits within its tenements, where it aimed to establish a stand-alone copper-gold project.

Tennant has also planned to test other priority targets within the 2.5-kilometre Bluebird-Perseverance corridor.

Meanwhile, further results are pending for drill holes that tested western extensions of Bluebird as well as at depth.

Tennant shares were up 17.7 per cent and trading at 4 cents at market close.
