Tesoro Resources (TSO) has received assay results from four diamond holes drilled at the Ternera prospect at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

All holes intersected multiple mineralised zones and add onto those reported on in October.

The aim of this drilling is to extend the mineralisation at Ternera and provide additional information for modelling and resource estimation.

Best results include one metre at 8.75g/t gold from 280 metres, three metres at 5.71g/t gold from 28 metres, and 13 metres at 5.32g/t gold from 159 metres.

These results confirm the continuity of the mineralisation at Ternera and extended the zone associated with the CC400, CC450 and CC500 fault zones 70 metres south.

Tesoro is continuing to drill at Ternera with two diamond rigs operating 24 hours a day.

“Every hole drilled at El Zorro continues to deliver quality gold results, further adding to the scale of the Ternera deposit which has now been drilled over a strike length in excess of 750 metres, a width of up to 600 metres and is open at depth,” Managing Director Zeff Reeves said.

“The wide high-grade zone emerging to the south is particularly exciting and continues to exhibit a well defined wide, high grade zone which is now continuous for over 300 metres and up to 100 metres wide and open in all directions,” he added.

Furthermore, a surface mapping and trench sampling program has begun at the Toro Gordo Prospect with aims to define surface gold mineralisation associated with quartz veining.

Work is scheduled to continue for a further three to four weeks with results expected early next year.

Tesoro is up 24.1 per cent on the market this morning with shares trading for 36 cents each at 10:25 am AEDT.
