Tesoro Resources (TSO) has received its first results from the Drone Hill Target at the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

Hole ZDDH00095 was the first hole drilled at Drone Hill with a focus on gold mineralisation identified via surface mapping, sampling and geophysics.

This hole intercepted three zones of anomalous gold mineralisation associated with north–south faults and northwest secondary faults.

Best results include 11.5 metres at 1.13g/t gold from 212.5 metres, including 1.57 metres at 7.37g/t gold from 212.5 metres, and 0.55 metres at 1.52g/t gold from 135.95 metres.

These results confirm the potential for additional gold mineralisation at the project and further drilling is currently being planned.

“This result from the first hole drilled at Drone Hill is exceptional and it further demonstrates the extensive amount of gold in the El Zorro district,” Managing Director Zeff Reeves said.

“We have a solid foundation at Ternera, where resource definition drilling is ongoing, but with additional targets such as Drone Hill and Toro Gordo returning such positive early results, it lays down the foundation for continued growth at El Zorro,” he added.

So far, Tesoro has drilled 125 diamond holes, totalling 38,063 metres, at El Zorro, with results outstanding for 33 holes.

Additionally, drilling continues around the clock at the Ternera Gold Deposit.

Tesoro is down 6.52 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 21.5 cents at 12:30 pm AEDT.
