Tetragon Energy (ASX: TET) is accelerating its Philippines gas exploration strategy, with the newly listed explorer putting its expanded Halcon prospect in the spotlight at the RIU Good Oil & Gas Energy Conference in Perth today.
In an interview with HotCopper, Tetragon’s COO Dr Sam Algar outlined the opportunity across its offshore Philippines acreage, following last week’s major upgrade to the Halcon prospect.
The company’s best-estimate prospective resource for Halcon has more than tripled to 8 trillion cubic feet of gas, up from 2.6 trillion cubic feet.
Tetragon holds a 37.5% interest in the relevant Philippines permits and is operator, with the company now focused on further technical work and progressing its exploration plans.
The company is also assessing opportunities to bring partners into the projects as it works towards the next phase of exploration.
