Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU) was the clear standout stock to follow amongst HotCopper viewers after it received the long-awaited final investment decision for its game-changing Nolans project in the Northern Territory.

Tania Constable, CEO of the Minerals Council of Australia, has described Nolans as a “nationally significant development” and believes it’s one of a limited number globally capable of producing NdPr oxide outside China.

The project’s cornerstone is the Nolans Bore rare earths-phosphate-uranium-thorium deposit, one of the largest and most intensively explored deposits of its kind in the world.

ARU was up +0.85%, to 29.8¢ at the time of writing today.

Advanced material solutions developer AnteoTech (ASX:ADO) was another dramatic Oz market mover after the company reported its commercial-format cells were found to be highly suited to applications such as drones.

Testing at the Battery Innovation Centre in the U.S. confirmed the cells were a good fit for technology that requires powerful, lightweight batteries like drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as robotics, medical devices, and laptops. The successful independent third-party validation of Ultranode 95 is an important milestone as it scales up a commercialisation pathway, AnteoTech says.

ADO boomed today, adding +53.9%, up to 2¢ at lunch.

And finally, Resolution Minerals (ASX:RML) has been popular across the HotCopper forums after it released encouraging initial gold and tungsten drilling results at the Golden Gate South project in the States.

On the back of the early success, Resolution is fast-tracking the program by bringing in a second drill rig, which is expected to be in action early next week.

The Australian explorer has been particularly encouraged, it told its shareholders on Thursday, by the style and extent of mineralisation and alteration observed in core in the first holes of the current program.

RML was up +3.77% to 5.5¢ mid-arvo Thursday.

Wider, there are hopes the RBA may hold rates after Oz unemployment rates unexpectedly jumped to 4.5% after nearly 19,000 jobs were lost in April.

That helped the S&P/ASX 200 to climb +1.8% to 8,645 points in a big day.
