The ASX200 had a stronger session than expected, closing up, but only just.

The real estate sector led the way gaining 1.8 per cent, utilities were also up by a per cent and materials just short of a per cent.

In the green

Goodman Group (GMG) outperformed today, adding around seven per cent on the momentum from yesterday’s full-year results, whilst mining giants BHP and FMG each gained around 1.5 per cent.

Magellan Financial Group added 13.5 per cent on its full-year results and dividend announcements.

And Resonance Health (RHT) closed up more than 10 per cent after being contracted by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, to help drive the clinical trial of a new drug in Western Australia. Resonance closed the day at 7.2 cents.

In the red

It’s not surprising to see a company take a dive off the back of a capital raise, and today it was immuno-oncology company Imugene (IMU) that did just that.

It is raising $35 million through a share placement priced at 8.4 cents a share and the market dipped below that raised price, closing today at just above 8 cents.

Imugene will now seek another $30 million through a share purchase plan (SSP) at the same price to fund its recent acquisition of licensing rights to Precision Biosciences’ blood cancer cell therapy program –  and Phase 1b clinical trials.

Super Retail Group (SUL) dropped more than six and a half per cent after releasing its full-year results. The results showed record sales of $3.8 billion – an increase of 7 per cent.

The company that has Rebel Sports, Supercheap Auto, Macpac and BCF yesterday revealed a normalised NPAT of $274 million and announced a fully-franked 44-cent dividend and 25-cent special dividend.

But the company expects the cost of doing business this financial year to be higher with capex expenses above $120 million. Closed trade at $12.78.

And a day after announcing a $2 billion profit, Telstra (TLS) took dive, more than three per after releasing the transcript of its full-year 23 financial results.

It closed the week out at $4.

That’s Market Close for this Friday. I’m Sonia Madigan Have a fantastic weekend. See you soon.
