The ASX 200 made a steady trickle south today to close 0.63 per cent down, as uncertainty over the US debt ceiling still hangs in the balance. Asian markets followed suit.

Eight of eleven sectors closed in the red, dragged by miners and health care stocks.

Junior explorer, Rubix Resources (RB6) lifted 44.4 per cent on market today, off the back of a fresh lithium mine acquisition. Rubix will soon be the owner of the Ceiling lithium project in Quebec’s James Bay region.

Online travel business, Webjet (WEB) soared 4.38 per cent after revealing a positive annual report.

The company boosted revenue by 164 per cent to almost $364.5 million. Webjet says demand for bookings rose by 115 per cent for the year.

Carbon Revolution (CBR) was also on the rise after establishing a new US$60 million debt program. This will deliver net new funding for mega-line automation and capacity expansion, plus general capital costs of up to $37 million.

It also means the company will remain fully funded until after its proposed merger with Twin Ridge Capital Acquisition Corp.

Toro Energy (TOE) toppled 8.33 per cent, despite striking high grade nickel sulphide mineralisation at its Dimma nickel discovery in WA.

The company’s diamond drilling intersected two metres of continuous massive nickel sulphide mineralisation from 147.2 metres downhole.

Retailer Universal Store Holdings (UNI) fell 24.4 per cent. The decrease came despite a positive update to full year guidance, including sales, which are expected to increase by more than 50 per cent.

However, the group noted it’s concerned about consumer spending, as the cost of living tightens.

And finally, copper-focused miner, 29Metals (29M) dropped 19.1 per cent.

The company has been on the decline since updating its guidance two days ago. 29 Metals has fallen close to 70 per cent over the past six months. It closed the day at 82.5 cents.
