It has been a tough few weeks for Latitude Financial (LFS) customers, who were first told around 300,000 of them had their data stolen in a cyber attack.
Today, the company confirmed that actually, around 14 million documents were taken.
Close to eight million driver’s licence numbers are now thought to have been stolen, as well as 6.1 million records that include customers’ names, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers.
While the scale of the attack is much broader than first thought, LFS said no further suspicious activity had been observed. The company is undergoing a full review of the data breach and has launched a customer care program.
Also making headlines today, IOUpay (IOU) executed search and seizure orders in Malaysia against former CFO Kenneth Kuan Choon Hsuing and three associates.
Raids were carried out on Mr Kuan’s premises and those of the associates after the company alleged misappropriation of up to $7 million in company funds relating to its partnership with IDSB.
Officials secured documents and mobile phones from the premises to be analysed by independent forensic investigators.
IOU has begun civil proceedings in the High Court of Malaysia.

Thick spodumene-bearing pegmatites were intercepted in drilling carried out between November last year and February this year. Assay results included 10 metres at just over 2 per cent lithium from 260 metres downhole.
Drilling is continuing at the project with two drill rigs on site.
