Todd River Resources (TRT) has received results from an auger geochemical sampling program along the eastern magnetic trend at the Berkshire Valley Project in Western Australia.

The nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) project is located within the western gneiss belt of the South West Province of the Yilgarn Craton, consisting of meta-sedimentary and igneous rocks, including parallel trends of mafic and ultramafic intrusions.

The latest results are said to confirm the presence of two broad anomalous zones associated with magnetic features, interpreted to be intrusive gabbro-norite bodies.

Further, the anomalies overlie targeted mafic and ultramafic intrusions that the company said are coincident with strong magnetic high features.

Specifically, the results show a 1.8-kilometre-long northern anomaly with PGE values consistently above 20 part per billion platinum and paladium, associated with strongly anomalous copper and nickel.

The southern anomalous zone also indicates strong nickel anomalism with an
associated 30 ppb platinum and paladium anomaly that has subordinate copper along the north eastern flank of the magnetic trend.

TRT also notes a discrete coincident nickel-copper-PGE feature in the south west corner of the anomalous zone that is truncated by an alluvial channel, rendering auger sampling ineffective and leaving the anomaly open and under alluvial cover.

Results from several infill and lower priority areas are still pending, with results expected in the next three weeks.

The company said it’s likely the northern end of the main anomaly will be extended once the full set of assays are returned.

Looking forward, TRT has put land access agreements in place to undertake moving-loop electromagnetic fieldwork and drilling at the eastern trend.
