Toro Energy (TOE) has begun its 2021 diamond drilling program at its Dusty Nickel Project in Western Australia.

Dusty lies within the Yandal Greenstone Belt, which is located 15 kilometres northeast of the Bronzewing Gold Mine.

At least 2600 metres of diamond drilling will be completed with focus on testing for extensions of the previously intersected massive nickel sulphides.

Once received, the results will be used to gather structural and geological information that will aid in the determination of the orientation of the mineralisation.

Of the 2600 metres, roughly 600 metres will be drilled to completed 2020 work at Dusty.

Two holes will be drilled at the Yandal One Target Area to test the base of the Yandal One rock unit, where favourable geochemistry was intersected in previous drilling.

Toro first encountered massive nickel sulphides at Dusty in 2019 via a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

The RC drilling intersected 15 centimetres of massive nickel sulphides grading 1.86 per cent nickel, 0.19 per cent copper and 0.08 per cent cobalt.

Overall, up to 4.01 per cent nickel, 0.42 per cent copper, 0.15 per cent cobalt and 0.45g/t platinum and palladium has been intersected from Dusty.

Toro is up 9.52 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 2.3 cents at 1:38 pm AEDT.
