Trek Metals’ (TKM) recent reconnaissance fieldwork programs at its Jimblebar and Pincunah gold projects has shown strong potential for gold mineralisation.

Trek only acquired a 100 per cent ownership of both projects in August this year after exercising an option to acquire ACME Pilbara.

The fieldwork program included mapping and sampling across both projects which include prospects for gold and base metal mineralisation and under-explored areas.

Jimblebar

The Jimblebar Gold Project is located 50 kilometres east of Newman and includes a greenstone-scale exploration opportunity within a historical goldfield.

Extensive gold shafts and workings were identified over a 300-metre trend within the Jimblebar Project. This highly prospective area has been named ‘Stu’s Find’.

11 rock samples were taken from the Stu’s Find gold workings and nine of these returned gold assays above 0.3g/t. High-grade results from separate samples include up to 4g/t gold, 3.9 per cent copper and 30g/t silver as well as other pathfinder metals up to 25g/t molybdenum and 1136 parts per million (ppm) bismuth.

Sampling at the Pilliwinkle prospect also returned anomalous gold results including up to 3.2g/t gold. Further, pathfinder metals graded up to 40 ppm molybdenum and 175 ppm bismuth.

“We are particularly encouraged by the discovery of a significant group of historical workings at Stu’s Find, part of the Jimblebar Project, with high-grade results from rock samples in this area. This will be a priority focus for our upcoming programs,” Executive Director John Young said.

Pincunah

The Pincunah Gold Project is located 70 kilometres west of Marble Bar and is situated near gold and base metal deposits.

Rock sampling returned highly elevated gold results from the Valley of Gossans and Carlindi prospect areas.

At Valley of Gossans, results include up to 0.4g/t gold, 56.8g/t silver, 0.2 per cent copper, 0.1 per cent zinc and 0.3 per cent lead. Sampling also returned positive pathfinder metal results of up to 514 ppm bismuth, 10,000 ppm arsenic and 2677 ppm antimony.

At the Carlindi prospect area, elevated gold was identified over a two-kilometre strike with a standout assay of 1.8g/t gold. The assay was found in an area 300 metres south of where historical drilling was conducted.

New interpretation identified a series of northwest-trending structures that seem to control gold mineralisation at both prospects.

“This is a highly encouraging start to our exploration programs at both Jimblebar and Pincunah, with results from both of these newly-acquired projects confirming strong potential for gold mineralisation,” John stated.

Outlook

This initial fieldwork has been highly encouraging and has enhanced Trek’s understanding of the project areas.

Trek is planning to conduct an induced polarisation survey over certain anomalies at Jimblebar to define drill targets.

A soil sampling program and further ground truthing is currently being planned at Valley of Gossans to improve the understanding of bedrock geology.

This work will assist with preparing for a maiden drilling program that is planned to begin before the end of the year.

Company shares are up a healthy 20 per cent and trading for 7.2 cents at market close.
