With more than seven million users on the HotCopper forums, every discussion and speculation can move Australian markets, which is why getting out in front of those trends is so important for any trader worth their salt.
Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.
In this daily HotCopper Trends column, we break down the top three stocks talked about on any given trade day, and why they’ve drawn a daily focus.
Stakk Ltd (ASX:SKK) is top-trending on HotCopper today after it requested a suspension to prepare for an agreement with a new customer. Reading between the lines a little, though – as my colleague Jonathon Davidson did earlier today – it’s likely Stakk was also trying to time things so that they’ll come out of the ASX pause right when AI powerhouse Nvidia shares its earnings on Thursday.
Not the worst idea if it can ride those Wall Street coattails, though, there’s no real clue how Nvidia may fare in its long-awaited earnings.
Before pausing, SKK was at 4.3cps this Tuesday morning.
Elsewhere, Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR) raked in over 10,000 views and several hundred comments on the forums after unveiling “wide gold intercepts” at its Colosseum dig, where it’s been exploring for some months.
This week’s strong gold intercepts from infill drilling have confirmed the continuity of mineralisation at depth at the Calfornian site, Dateline reported.
DTR shares are down -10.9% through trade today, however.
And finally, McLaren Minerals (ASX:MML) caught market attention after delivering an “outstanding” resource upgrade at its titular project. MML shares have been up as much as +50% on the bumper reporting.
Looking wider, the ASX has been -1.4% lower in what can only be described as a very brutal day for the bourse. It had closed mostly flat yesterday.
