Venture Minerals (VMS) has appointed mining engineer Glenn Van Vlemen as project development manager to lead the feasibility study for its proposed Mount Lindsay underground tin-tungsten project development in Tasmania.

Mr Van Vlemen has more than 30 years Australian and overseas experience in mining and engineering.

Venture says he led the implementation of long-term business strategies for resource companies including BHP Nickel, WMC Gold, Central Norseman Gold, Croesus Mining, Munali Nickel and Oceana Gold and conducted numerous studies and then implemented the developments.

Geoff Beros has also been appointed to Venture’s feasibility study team as metallurgical consultant to Mr Van Vlemen.

“Venture is fortunate to have engaged a very experienced underground mining engineer who has worked in tin and is therefore well suited to run the updated Mount Lindsay feasibility study,” Managing Director Andrew Radonjic said.

“Glenn’s appointment has coincided with the completion of the metallurgical drill program, a significant milestone for the company as it moves through the study.”

Venture says latest results from the metallurgical program continue to deliver “outstanding tin-tungsten drill intersections” within the high-grade shoots of the Main Skarn and No. 2 Skarn deposits.

The intersections included 158.5 metres grading 0.8 per cent tin and 0.1 per cent tungsten trioxide from 78m from the Main Skarn deposit and 99m at 0.3 per cent tungsten trioxide from 63m from the No. 2 Skarn deposit.

Mount Lindsay, which Venture says is one of the largest undeveloped tin projects in the world, has been classified by the Federal Government as a critical minerals project.

VMS shares were up 4.76 per cent to 4.4 cents at 1:59 pm AEDT.
