Venus Metals (VMC) has commenced drilling at its Henderson Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

The reverse circulation (RC) drilling is part of the phase two program testing the depth extension and potential spatial zonation of LCT pegmatites identified from outcrop mapping and sampling.

The RC drilling will also test “encouraging” gold anomalies intersected in the phase one air core drilling program which included seven metres at 1.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at the Emerald S Prospect.

Henderson includes five exploration licences that cover an area of about 800 square kilometres.

Current drilling is focused on tenement E30/520, which covers about 25 kilometres of strike of the Mt Ida/Ularring Greenstone Belt.

The belt is historically known for its gold production but is more recently known as an emerging lithium province following the discovery of spodumene-rich pegmatites near the Mt Ida gold mine.

Venus has ended the day 6.25 per cent in the red to close at 15 cents.
