Venus Metals’ (VMC) shares are up this morning after intersecting high-grade gold within its Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia.

The company has received results from its recent drilling program at the Range View and Western Ridge Prospects, located 1.5 kilometres northeast and 2.6 kilometres north from the Bellchambers Deposit.

The drilling program included seven reverse circulation (RC) holes for 460 metres and targeted historical gold workings.

Through this campaign, Venus has uncovered high-grade gold at Range View.

Best results from the drilling include 11 metres at 4.69 g/t of gold from 12 metres, including one metre at 38.92 g/t of gold from 20 metres.

The gold mineralisation is open at the depth and to the east and could be potential southern extensions of the Range View gold lodes which were mined in the early 1900s.

Venus will now further explore the target area with additional RC and aircore drilling programs.

On the market this morning, Venus is up 14.3 per cent and trading at 20 cents per share at 11:07 am AEDT.
