Volt Resources (VRC) has received assay results from an initial reconnaissance program over the Mandiana and Kouroussa projects.

Volt has six permits covering an area of 348.7 square kilometres in the highly prospective Siguiri Basin of Guinea.

A total of 503 samples were collected from all permits within the projects and all samples have been dispatched for analysis.

Initial results have confirmed gold mineralisation in all three permits. These include the Nzima and Monebo permits in the Mandiana Project and the Kouroussa permit in the Kouroussa Project.

Pleasingly, the company has received grades between background and 14g/t gold from grab samples.

The Mandiana Project

Nzima

A total of 113 samples were collected from floats, workings and termite mounds. The results for 85 samples have been received and have confirmed gold mineralisation as well as three anomalous targets.

One sample returned grades of 2.93g/t gold.

Monebo

A total of 23 samples were collected from the Monebo permit but, at this stage, only results for 11 samples have been received. Like Nzima, the samples were also collected from floats, workings and termite mounds.

Roughly 50 per cent of all samples have returned anomalous values of gold greater than 0.5g/t gold. One sample returned grades of up to 8.89g/t gold.

The results have also confirmed the presence of gold mineralisation.

The Kouroussa Project

Kouroussa

A total of 76 samples were collected from this permit and all results have been received.

Pleasingly, the results have confirmed gold mineralisation with gold grading up to 1.02g/t.

The next steps

Volt is now waiting for grab sample results to be confirmed. Once these have been received, the company will plan a follow-up systematic auger geochemical sampling program which will be conducted in late November.

The exploration team is now at the Konsolon Project and collecting grab samples from remote sensing targets and historical sample areas. These samples will assist in validating historical data.

Company shares are up 5.26 per cent and are trading for 2 cents each at 11:09 am AEST.
