Volt Resources (VRC) has outlined three gold anomaly areas at the Kouroussa permit in Guinea.

These anomalies span 1200 metres by 900 metres and no testing has been done at depth.

Volt believes the mineralisation may correlate to a single system, and this will be confirmed by future drilling programs.

These anomalies were identified via a power auger drilling program that consisted of 113 holes, for 943 metres, over areas that had anomalous sample results.

The overall aim of the auger drilling program is to generate reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling targets.

The first anomaly spans a length of roughly 450 metres and has returned a result of up to 1.86g/t gold. Additionally, it remains open to the south.

The second anomaly was existing and has weak gold mineralisation, while the third is a new find and has intersected up to 0.47g/t gold.

“This is a very positive start to the auger drilling program with the first exploration permit tested reporting a number of anomalous gold results which provides encouragement to do further work in the location,” Managing Director Trevor Matthews said.

“The Volt board is looking forward to the results from the other two completed drill programs and the current auger drilling program underway at Konsolon,” he added.

Volt will now undertake further work at Kouroussa with a focus on the three anomalous areas to better define mineralisation.

Specifically, deeper drilling will be undertaken at the third anomaly to infill to the south of the anomalous areas.

Volt is up 6.25 per cent on the market this morning and shares are trading at 1.7 cents at 11:24 am AEDT.
