Volt Resources (VRC) has restarted production at the Zavalievsky graphite mine and processing plant in Ukraine.

Based on previous operating performance and operational improvements, the Zavalievsky mine and plant is forecast to produce between 8000 and 9000 tonnes of graphite products for the year ending June 30, 2023.

Export of graphite products to central and eastern Europe will begin later in August with revenue expected to be received shortly after.

While the sale prices are currently being negotiated, they are expected to be in the range of US$750 (A$1069) to US$850 per tonne for the fine flake product grading 94 per cent total graphitic carbon (TGC).

The high purity product, grading between 99 and 99.5 per cent TGC, is expected to be between US$1500 to US$2000 per tonne.

“Congratulations to the Zavalievsky management and staff, who have put a lot of time and planning into the recommencement of graphite production and sales. Their commitment during a difficult period has been outstanding,” Managing Director Trevor Matthews said.

“Volt looks forward to the ramping up of production and the commencement of sales to customers in Europe.”

Volt was up 8.82 per cent on the market with shares trading at 1.9 cents at 12:55 pm AEST.
