Voltaic Strategic (VSR) has kicked off a 1250-metre reverse circulation drill program at the Andrada prospect of its Ti Tree project in the Gascoyne Region of WA.
The first-pass drilling program will cover seven areas of a geochemical anomaly where multiple pegmatites were mapped at the surface.
VSR said the program would provide further geological details to guide the future drilling of prime lithium targets, as well as bolster understanding of the regional pegmatite systems.
VSR CEO Michael Walshe said he was pleased to have embarked on the company’s second drill campaign since the commencement of trading on the ASX last October.
“This lithium-focused drill campaign is geared towards a two-fold objective: deepening our understanding of the geology at Ti Tree and identifying our next level of targets,” Mr Walshe said.
“We have a substantial amount of pegmatite outcrop across the project and are using the drill bit as the most effective exploration tool to further unlock the regional geological puzzle as we vector towards a discovery.”
VRS will use the drilling data from its new program to understand the continuity, geochemistry, and structural orientation of lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites within the project area and to potentially unlock several more prospective targets.
Voltaic said it planned to continue surface exploration across the project to generate targets along the Volta Corridor.
The Volta Corridor is home to Red Dirt Metals’ — now called Delta Lithium (DLI) — Yinnietharra lithium project.
The Ti Tree project spans an extensive 212-square-kilometre tenement package.
VSR shares were trading at 2.3 cents at 10:35 am AEST.
