Are company directors spotting bargains before the market catches on, or are they catching falling knives? This week, Wealth Within senior analysts Filip Tortevski and Pedro Banales examine three ASX stocks attracting insider buying despite significant share price weakness.

The long view, from the CEO
Long-form interviews with ASX leaders on strategy and outlook

Pinnacle Investment Management (ASX: PNI) has seen approximately $294,000 in director purchases as concerns surrounding its exposure to private credit manager Metrics weigh on sentiment. With shares having fallen around 50% from their peak, the $12 support level could prove crucial in determining whether a recovery is approaching.

Adairs (ASX: ADH) attracted a substantial $376,000 purchase from its chairman following disappointing results and leadership changes. Despite strong growth from Mocka, significant weakness in Focus on Furniture remains a concern. Technically, the $1.20–$1.25 support zone presents an interesting potential turning point.

Netwealth Group (ASX: NWL) recorded approximately $164,000 in director buying before announcing reduced inflow guidance. Despite record funds under administration, investors remain cautious. With shares approaching historically significant support around $15, a recovery could offer opportunities if buying strengthens.

While insider buying can signal confidence, it doesn’t guarantee a recovery. Filip and Pedro explain why technical confirmation, key support levels and disciplined risk management remain essential before following directors into the market.
