In this daily HotCopper Trends column, we break down the top Oz stocks through each trading day.

RBR Group (ASX: RBR) was a big climber on news it had secured the first contract award at Mozambique’s LNG projects since Force Majeure was lifted.

The initial contract for construction worker accommodation modules awarded to RBR Group subsidiary Projectos Dinamicos (PD) as subcontractor to the Italian corporate Bonatti International and Mota-Engil consortium, contractors to Exxon’s Rovuma LNG.

“The award of this first contract, albeit modest in value, represents a major step forward by PD in its pursuit of more significant contracts aligned to the early-stage construction works at the Rovuma LNG development located on the Afungi Peninsula, Palma, Northern Mozambique,” non-executive director, Athol Emerton, said.

“In addition to the Bonatti opportunity, PD and associated group company Futuro Skills are parties to current tender applications totalling some US$100 million in value and this initial award now signals the unlocking of the opportunities in Mozambique for RBR since the lifting of Force Majeure in 2025.”

RBR jumped 33.3% to 2.0¢.

Nova Minerals Corp (ASX: NVA) was popular on HotCopper after it received final approvals for its Alaska antinomy project.

“Securing our final permits is a major milestone for Nova, moving our Alaska antimony project from development planning toward construction and targeted production in 2027,” CEO, Christopher Gerteisen, said.

“In a relatively short period, we have secured US$43.4 million in Department of War funding, completed the permitting process, advanced engineering and metallurgical test work, and delivered critical equipment to our project locations.

“With these key milestones achieved, our focus is now on execution. We believe the project has the potential to contribute to a more secure U.S. domestic antimony supply chain, while creating a meaningful new growth opportunity for Nova and our shareholders.”

NVA was up 20.8% to 43.5¢.

Macallum New Energy (ASX: MNE) was closely watched after received firm commitments from sophisticated and professional investors to raise approximately $3 million through a placement.

The company said the placement will strengthen the company’s balance sheet and provide funding to accelerate its exploration activities across its EP 494 and EP 511 permits in the onshore North Perth Basin, by finalising the ongoing EP 494 farm-out process and preparations for exploration drilling, currently planned for late 2027.

“We are pleased to have secured strong commitment for the placement and are grateful for the support received from investors, during a time of particularly high volatility in the capital markets,” CEO, Andy Furniss, said.

“We appreciate the efforts from our brokers to successfully complete this raising under difficult market conditions. The capital raised allows us to continue progressing our farm-out and well planning to enable an exploration drilling programme currently targeted for late 2027.”

MNE rose 18.8% to 19.0¢.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was up this morning, gaining 18.10 points or 0.20% to 8,868.20 and setting a new 20-day high. Over the last five days, the index has gained 0.42% and is currently 4.61% off of its 52-week high.

Elsewhere, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has found that the main difficulty in finding work in 2025-26 was “too many applicants for available jobs”, according to data released today.

“About one in five people – or 22% – reported too many applicants as their main barrier for finding work,” Sean Crick, ABS head of labour statistics, said.

“82% of people who wanted a job, were looking for work, and were available to start within four weeks reported difficulties in getting a job.

“Just over one in four men reported their main difficulty was ‘too many applicants for available jobs’, while about one in seven said lacking training, qualifications or experience was theirs.

“For women, the main difficulty was split almost equally between those two barriers.”
