Westgold Resources has announced its Bluebird Processing Plant at the Meekatharra Gold Operations is back up and running.

The SAG mill at Bluebird has been out of action for twenty days since the unexpected failure of mill bearings.

Earlier this month, the company announced it had discovered issues with the white metal bearings at Bluebird and the processing plant has been offline for five days.

Westgold amended the processing circuit, which enabled processing to continue for the last six days. However, it was only able to process at 50 per cent of its capacity. Gold production continued during this period.

As of last night, the repaired SAG mill has been in full operation. The company says Bluebird is processing steadily at over 200 tonnes per hour.

Due to this incident, production for this current quarter at Meekatharra is expected to be under the targeted amount by approximately 2,500 ounces.

Meekatharra Gold is located in the Murchison Goldfields of Western Australia around the regional towns of Cue and Meekatharra.

The Bluebird Plant is a 1.6-1.8 million tonnes per annum processing hub, located within the Meekatharra Gold Project.

Westgold Resources is up 1.74 per cent and is selling shares for $2.04 apiece at 3:56 pm AEDT.
