Alltype Engineering, a subsidiary of WestStar Industrial (WSI), has been awarded a $33 million contract from Lynas Rare Earths (LYC).

Under the contract, Alltype will construct and install the kiln feed hood and waste gas treatment circuit at the Lynas Rare Earths processing facility in Kalgoorlie.

Lynas’ rare earths processing facility will treat rare earth concentrate from its Mt Weld mine to produce a mixed rare earth carbonate which will be packaged and transported to Fremantle for export to the Lynas Malaysia advanced materials plant.

The contract is the largest Alltype has received in its 37-year history and solidifies its recognition as a tier-two construction contractor in the mining, mineral processing and resources sectors.

“Our project team has done a fantastic job on the rotary kiln project to date, and we appreciate Lynas’ recognition of this performance and the positive collaboration between our companies, who are both focused on safe and efficient construction of this critical process plant infrastructure,” Alltype Managing Director Kelvin Andrijich commented.

Work has begun and is expected to be completed during FY23.

WestStar was up 5.71 per cent on the market with shares trading at 18.5 cents at 1:55 pm AEDT.
