White Cliff Minerals (WCN) has calculated a maiden JORC resource for its Reedy South Gold Project in Western Australia.

The JORC 2012 maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) reads 779,000 tonnes at 1.7g/t gold for 42,400 ounces.

Of this, 6600 ounces is in the indicated category and 35,800 ounces is in the inferred category.

The 156-square-kilometre project lies in the Cue Goldfields and consists of one granted mining lease and three exploration licence applications.

Historical exploration at Reedy South has been limited to surface prospecting, geochemistry, and broad spaced shallow drilling.

Since 1984, 117 reverse circulation (RC) holes have been drilled, and this data was used in the calculation of the MRE.

“The company is pleased with the maiden JORC resource at Reedy South and the ability to rapidly convert historical drilling into a maiden resource, including a portion of indicated resources,” Technical Director Ed Mead said.

“The MRE will be used by the company to guide our first drilling program that is due to commence in the coming weeks. We look forward to the rigs turning and updating shareholders in due course,” he added.

This upcoming program will aim to extend known mineralisation at depth and along strike to aid in future resource upgrades.

Work will also aim to target high-grade ore identified by previous drilling at the Pegasus and King Cole prospects.

White Cliff is down 2.5 per cent and shares are trading for 3.9 cents each at 11:31 am AEDT.
