Wia Gold (WIA) has rounded off its diamond drilling program at the Kokoseb gold discovery within its Damaran gold project in Namibia.
Results from five diamond drill holes, located on different sections of the surface gold anomaly, confirmed significant gold mineralisation in the area.
Assays from the program included 13.1 metres at 2.56 grams of gold per tonne (g/t gold), 40.2 metres at 1.09 g/t gold and 30.3 metres at 1.97 g/t gold.
Meanwhile, Wia has drilled eleven reverse circulation holes for over 2000 metres at Kokoseb, returning intercepts of 23 metres at 1.56 g/t gold from 61 metres.
“The first phases of reconnaissance work at Kokoseb have now been successfully completed, with all trenches and diamond holes returning significant results,” Wia Chairman Andrew Pardey said.
“Kokoseb is an exceptional target that is open along its 6.5-kilometres strike and at depth. The systematic reverse circulation drilling program is progressing well, and initial results have returned gold mineralised intercepts that are consistent with the diamond drilling results.”
The company said it was now working to fast-track mineralisation delineation at Kokoseb.
Wia Gold shares were trading grey at seven cents at 11:50 am AEST.
