Wildcat Resources (WC8) has begun diamond drilling at the Highway Prospect, within the Mt Adrah Gold Project in NSW.

The diamond drilling program will comprise three holes designed to test the source of a 500-metre-long, 95-part-per-billion gold soil anomaly defined in March following soil sampling completed in February.

WC8 said the anomaly is interpreted to be sourced from high-grade vein-style mineralisation and occurs within a 1.3-kilometre striking zone defined by elevated gold, arsenic and antimony.

In other news, the company is expecting to complete a regional soil sampling program in August, after minor delays from rain pushed the completion date back.

So far, 914 samples of the program have been completed, with 165 yet to be collected.

The regional program was designed to identify the footprint of mineral systems with the potential to host large deposits and provide a systematically collected foundational dataset of modern geochemical data.

The program has also infilled previously defined gold anomalies at the Yaven, Dog Trap Creek and Highway West prospects within the project area.

LKE believes there is potential for the Yaven, Dog Trap Creek and Bangadang prospects to host significant mineralisation due to the relation with the Gilmore suture, which is associated with several gold deposits.

Looking forward, a regional soil and stream sediment sampling is planned for White Dog Creek, which is also located along the Gilmore suture, pending assay results from recent reconnaissance sampling.

Company shares were in the green, trading 3.7 per cent higher at 2.8 cents at 12:27pm AEST.
