Sustainable packaging company SECOS (SES) will see its MyEco range of products expanded to 970 Woolworths (WOW) stores across Australia.

Specifically, the supermarket giant will sell the company’s eight-litre compostable kitchen caddy bag range in 970 of its stores and 930 of those will stock the 36-litre compostable bag range.

SECOS says its compostable products gives households a clean and convenient way to separate their food waste which is important to make sure food doesn’t end up in landfill.

Having these products available in hundreds of Woolworths stores is considered to be a major step in having more households participate in council-approved food organic waste programs.

The companies first partnered in mid-2020 when Woolworths agreed to stock SECOS’ compostable bag range in 86 of its stores.

“With 970 stores soon to be stocking our 8L bag and 930 stores stocking our 36L bag we feel extremely optimistic that MyEcoBag will become a household name over time,” SECOS CEO Ian Stacey said.

“This, together with two additional major retailers and two leading distributors now stocking MyEco products in Australia and the US, gives us confidence that growth in our retail branded segment will continue to outperform over the coming years,” Mr Stacey added.

SECOS said the expansion into 970 Woolworths stores has sparked the board’s decision to further invest into developing a global retail brand. Broadly, it will continue executing its growth strategy which involves increasing its market share in grocery and convenience stores across Australia, the US, Latin America, and more.

Company shares ended Tuesday’s session 6.67 per cent in the green at 24 cents.
