SECOS Group (SES) will soon have two of its certified compostable bin liners sold in-store at Woolworths (WOW) supermarkets.

The eight-litre Kitchen Caddy Bag and 36-litre Bin Liner will be rolled out in 86 different Woolworths Eco stores this month.

The products could then be rolled out across the wider Australian Woolworths store network.

Speaking on today’s announcement, SECOS CEO Ian Stacey said he was elated Woolworths recognised the value of their products.

“SECOS is pleased to broaden its product portfolio and customer base in what we feel will be a strong growth area both in Australia and around the world,” he said.

“It is pleasing to see the hard work in launching new brands and products come to fruition,” Ian added.

SECOS products allow households participating in council approved organic food waste programs to dispose of the bags in their green waste bin.

Meanwhile, the City of Melville recently awarded SECOS a $600,000 contract to supply its bin liners to the council.

The company’s aim is to replace plastic bags with compostable options, thereby reducing greenhouse emissions and turning food waste into fertile mulch.

SECOS is hopeful by having their products sold in supermarkets, it’ll be able to gain market share across Australia, the U.S. and Mexico.

Following the announcement, SECOS shares have jumped a staggering 168 per cent to sit at 15 cents per share at 10.44 am AEST.
