Defence product company XTEK (XTE) has received the first commercial order for its XTclave manufactured products.

This order comes from Tote Systems Australia and will provide an extremely lightweight solution in tandem with TOTE soft armour and Tactical Vest system.

This will be used by an Australian Specialist Law Enforcement unit.

XTEK anticipates that these products will be delivered by the end of FY20.

“This first commercial order for our XTclave manufactured ballistic plates is a significant milestone for XTEK. Until now, orders received were used for testing and validation; this important order will be deployed for use in law enforcement in Australia,” Managing Director Philippe Odouard said.

“This represents an external validation and a strong indicator of more orders to come from the industry both domestically and globally,” he added.

XTclave is a composite materials (material made from two or more materials) preserving and unifying technology.

This technology is ideally suited to the manufacture of high-quality, void-free, precision ballistic and structural solutions such as armour, unmanned crafts, robotic mechanical systems, and lightweight tactical carriage equipment (such as tanks).

XTclave makes it possible to manufacture lighter, stronger, stiffer and more durable armour.

Discussions are now progressing with potential domestic and international clients for XTEK’s advanced ballistic products.

If orders are received the company is well positioned to service this demand given the recent opening of the advanced manufacturing facility in Adelaide.

Further orders for XTclave manufactured products are expected in the short to medium term.

However, due to COVID-19, XTEK is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its staff and continuation of sales. It will continue to monitor and manage the situation.

XTEK is up a slight two per cent on the market with shares trading for 51 cents apiece at 1:38 pm AEDT.
