Yandal Resources (ASX: YRL) has further confirmed the upside of the Arrakis gold discovery within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) gold project in Western Australia.

Assay results included significant intercepts approximately 50m down-dip of the previous high-grade results confirm the presence of an additional high-grade domain within the Arrakis gold discovery.

Interpretations to date suggests a possible steep-to-moderate south plunge and the third potential high-grade domain identified within the Arrakis mineralised system to date.

The extrapolation of the high-grade domain down-plunge offers a strong target for further drilling below the Yueh Shear Zone.

Results from a further two diamond tails are anticipated in early September.

The promising results come from targeted broad-spaced infill RC drilling and subsequent diamond tails on 100m spaced drilling lines across the currently defined 1.3km Arrakis discovery commenced in early May. The drilling was designed to test for high-grade domains within the 1.3km striking Arrakis mineralised system.

Previously reported results from diamond hole 26IWBRC0066D (with 11.5m at 1.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 5.0m at 3.1 g/t and 21.7m at 0.8g/t  including 4.0m AT 2.1 g/t) demonstrated that significant mineralisation occurs below the Yueh Shear Zone.

“Today’s results provide further support for a third high-grade domain within the Arrakis mineralised system, first defined after the 6.0m at 28.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold intercept reported two weeks ago,” MD, Chris Oorschot, said.

“Interpretations suggest a south-plunging domain of higher-grade mineralisation, striking between 100m to 150m.

“Given the interpreted south-plunging geometry of the new high-grade domain, the new domain remains untested below the Yueh Shear Zone, an intense zone of mylonitisation where Arrakis mineralisation is structurally disrupted and attenuated, providing a strong at-depth target for future drilling.”

Assay results from a further seven RC holes and one diamond core tail have been received and significant Arrakis intercepts included: 17.5m at 2.3 g/t from 127.5m including 3.8m at 2.8 g/t from 130.7m; and 4.8m at 4.0 g/t from 135.5m and 17.0m at 1.1g/t from 162.0m including 1.6m at 3.8g/t from 31m.

Mr Oorschot said results from the Arrakis 6,650mN section demonstrate an emerging high-grade domain situated in the footwall of the Arrakis structure, and directly below an intermediate porphyry.

The Arrakis prospect is located at the centre of the IWB Gold Project, within the Yandal Greenstone Belt of WA. The prospect is defined by a 2.2 km regolith gold anomaly defined by air-core drilling in 2025.

YRL was steady at 14.5¢ with a Mkt cap of $55.31M prior to markets opening.
