Zenith Minerals (ZNC) has begun a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Mt Ida North lithium project in Western Australia.

Drilling will test for blind lithium spodumene mineralisation beneath the tantalum-bearing dykes – similar to what is under investigation at Zenith’s Waratah Well project.

Previous mapping and sampling have identified a zone of high rubidium and tantalum-bearing pegmatite dykes over a one by one kilometre area.

Pegmatite geochemistry indicated lithium, caesium, and tantalum pegmatites with up to 2307 parts per million (ppm) rubidium and 98 ppm tantalum.

Between 10 to 12 holes RC holes will be drilled with work estimated to take two weeks to complete and assays expected three weeks after that.

“I am very pleased to advise that drilling has commenced at Mt Ida North. The project is one of three that have very active ongoing exploration programs in Western Australia,” Managing Director Michael Clifford said.

Once the rig has finished up at Mt Ida North, it will follow-up on the recent drilling at the Waratah Well project.

Zenith ended the day 6.45 per cent in the red to close at 29 cents.
