4DS Memory (4DS) has added another U.S. patent grant to its growing intellectual property portfolio.

The 29th patent is for a ‘Resistive Memory Device Having A Template Layer’, which the company says will broaden the claims of previous patent grants.

All granted patents are 100 per cent owned by 4DS as they have been developed in-house and are therefore free from any royalty or licensing obligations.

4DS also has three further U.S. patent applications in the pipeline to strengthen its intellectual property portfolio in what they describe as a high-density, high- volume industry segment.

The company develops interface switching ReRAM, a unique area-based ReRAM technology for storage class memory in mobile devices and cloud data centres.

4DS Chief Executive and Managing Director Dr Guido Arnoutis said the receiving the patent grant broadens the company’s claims in the segment.

“4DS is extremely pleased to receive another U.S. patent grant which broadens its claims in Interface Switching ReRAM,” he commented.

“The company is working with patent attorneys and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to have three more strategically important patents granted as soon as possible,” he added.

Shares in 4DS are steady on the market following the announcement, trading at 12 cents each at 12:44 pm AEDT.
