Great Northern Minerals (GNM) has intersected gold in every hole during a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Camel Creek Gold Project.
Camel Creek is located in Northern Queensland and consists of seven granted mining leases with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike.
18 holes were drilled, for 2516 metres, at Camel Creek on previously mined areas that reached depths between roughly 25 to 30 metres.
These new holes were drilled to depths ranging between 65 to 197 metres and the majority will require follow-up drilling.
Best results from this maiden program include four metres at 4.1g/t gold from 88 metres, 12 metres at 4.07g/t gold from 108 metres, and 52 metres at 1.9g/t gold, including 24 metres at 3.26g/t gold from 56 metres.
“This drill program represents the first modern deeper exploration ever undertaken at Camel Creek,” Managing Director Cameron McLean said.
“Great Northern tested 700 metres of over four kilometres of mineralisation and the results are very encouraging, especially the continuity of the intercepts over the areas tested. As a result, we have a number of targets to follow up on,” he added.
Additionally, Great Northern has begun RC drilling at the Big Rush Gold Project, also in Northern Queensland, where a minimum of 18 holes have been planned.
The company will update the market as it progresses.
Great Northern is down 3.85 per cent and shares are trading for 2.5 cents each at 11:45 am AEST.
