De Grey Mining (DEG) has intercepted up to 84.7g/t gold from the Crow Zone at the Hemi Gold Discovery.

Hemi is a relatively new gold discovery at the Mallina Gold Province which lies 60 kilometres south of Port Hedland in Western Australia.

Initial aircore drilling at Crow has defined a large gold system spanning a length of one kilometre and a width of 400 metres, and reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling has been undertaken to define and extend the mineralisation.

New significant zones include 64 metres at 13.4g/t gold from 141 metres including 19 metres at 42g/t gold from 170 metres and eight metres at 84.7g/t gold.

“[The RC results] demonstrate the potential for Crow to significantly add to the overall gold endowment at Hemi and to meaningfully contribute to a potential large scale, near-surface open-pit production scenario,” Managing Director Glenn Jardine said.

“The company’s drilling program is working successfully toward our strategic goal of making Hemi a tier-one scale gold deposit and demonstrating the potential for further upside on a tenement wide scale,” he added.

These results have indicated that Crow hosts a number of moderately south dipping lodes with many remaining open at depth and along strike.

Further drilling at Crow is now continuing to extend and infill the mineralisation.

De Grey is steady on the market this morning and shares are trading for 88.5 cents each at 10:22 am AEST.
