Comet Resources (CRL) has appointed Interminco Services as Project Manager for the Santa Teresa Gold Project in Baja California, Mexico.

This appointment will provide Comet with a significant in-country technical and commercial experience.

Interminco is a highly experienced provider of project management and commercial services in the mining industry across Latin America. It has worked with the likes of Rio Tinto and Xstrata across Mexico, Chile, and the U.S.

Throughout its tenure, Interminco will have a full-time team based in Ensenada which lies roughly 100 kilometres from Santa Teresa.

The initial focus will be planning for an upcoming drilling program, along with relevant permitting, sampling, assaying and data management activities.

“Interminco’s experienced team is now mobilising to Ensenada, which will be Comet’s in country base of operations in Mexico. Ensenada is only 100 kilometres from the project site by manually sealed national highways,” Managing Director Matthew O’Kane said.

“Interminco’s experience in Mexico will be invaluable in getting Santa Teresa exploration underway quickly and efficiently,” he added.

Santa Teresa lies in the gold-rich El Alamo district and consists of two mineral claims totalling 202 hectares. It is prospective for high-grade gold, with previous work returning up to 958.4g/t gold.

Comet is up four per cent on the market with shares trading for 2.6 cents at 2:21 pm AEDT.
