Indiana Resources Ltd has started a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Koussikoto Ouest Licence at its West Mali Gold Project.

The 1590 metre drilling program is the company’s response the discovery of ten distinct soil anomalies in May this year, following the review of historic soil geochemistry in the southern zone of the West Mali Gold Project.

The program is designed to test four significant intercepts recorded by air-core drilling in 2018 — including 8 metres at 3.37 g/t gold from 12 metres — and priority soil anomalies identified in last month’s geochemistry review.

The ten anomalies discovered in from the review have been labelled A1-A10, and the anomalies range up to 5000 metres in length. The anomalies have reported peak values of 10,000 parts per billion (ppb), which is the maximum testing limit for the low-level assay technique used for the assaying of soil samples.

Furthermore, only A1 has been previously drill tested, reporting results including: 18 metres at 3.35 g/t gold from 26 metres, and 4.5 metres at 18.55 g/t gold from 98.8 metres.

Indiana field teams have also recently completed infill soil geochemistry at Koussikoto Ouest, which was planned last month after the completion of the geochemistry view. The planned extensive rock chip sampling program across the license area has also been completed.

The identified anomalies appear related to north–south and northwest-southeast trending structures within the Main Transcurrent Zone (MTZ), which is interpreted to be one of the structures which controls mineralisation in Western Mali and Eastern Senegal.

The West Mali Gold Project is located within the Kenieba Inlier of Western Mali, which hosts several gold deposits including the 12.5 million ounce Loulou deposit and the six million ounce Sabodala deposit.
