Drill results from Sovereign Metals’ (SVM) Kasiya prospect in Malawi have further extended and defined high-grade zones of rutile.

Phase 8 results from the 70 holes drilled at the company’s flagship deposit, located within the 66-kilometre square mineralised footprint, have further extended and defined the high-grade zones.

Following this latest round of exploration, The company has now drilled 3023 metres across 303 holes at Kasiya.

The results displayed multiple areas with greater than 1.5 per cent rutile in the top three to five metres from the surface, with results such as 13 metres at 1.47 per cent including 4 metres at 1.71 per cent rutile.

The new results show well defined, high-grade rutile zones with good continuity collectively forming a substantial central high-grade area that has now been drilled at roughly 400 by 400 metre spacing.

These high-grade areas will now be examined for additional infill drilling and metallurgical variability test-work for a scoping study planned for later in 2021.

Sovereign Metals will also continue metallurgical variability test-work planned for three separate samples representing different regolith units at Kasiya and look into further work for a potential coarse-flake graphite by-product from Kasiya.

Sovereign Metals is up 6.94 per cent, trading at 38.5 cents at 4:09 pm AEDT.
